Cell Phone Plans

The Lifeline Assistance program is available for one wireless account per household. Separate households at the same address are eligible, including residents of homeless shelters and nursing homes. Residents with temporary addresses are also eligible. You are qualified if you receive public assistance like Medi-Cal, SSI, SSDI or Cal-Fresh (Food Stamps). You can also qualify based on your household income.

The following companies offer discounted wireless phone service:

Nexus Communications Reach Out Wireless: 877-777-1914.

Telscape Communications:
800-835-7227. Also includes free cell phone. www.telscape.com

Only one discount per household for each residential address is allowed. The discount is available for either  a home phone or a cell phone, but not both. Households cannot get the discount from multiple companies. Households that do not follow the one discount per household rule will lose the discount.
